The relatives of young people lost after a deadly blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are confronting an excruciating wait for confirmed information and pleading for any details about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed images depict the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the disaster, which killed 40 people and injured another scores more. A spokesperson noted on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been identified, with work still underway to identify the other six.
