The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance

Emerging athlete preparing for major tournament

The rising star maintains substantial social media following

Kai Trump will have numerous prominent backers when she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

The former president, an avid golfer, owns numerous golf courses and often matches against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she revealed.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Simply stay calm."

"He basically suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.

"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, making him quite busy."

Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA standings.

Yet she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with her mother.

"He stands as the best player in the world," the young golfer said.

"And he's a more impressive human being. He suggested me to compete, relax, and go with the flow."

The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in women's golf at the competition, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

The LPGA stated that her participation brings the sport to different demographics, especially among the next generation.

The social media influencer has a massive following and just introduced a personal fashion and living brand.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
