On Monday, the court heard communication data and evidence recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized missing child cases and is still open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate recorded message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the information, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On 9 October 2024, the father picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

Court proceedings
Kate and Gerry McCann provided testimony to the court from using a security measure on Wednesday

The court heard the co-defendant developed a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in the county in last December.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the time before the trip to Rothley, the county, in that winter.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in last November, considering endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We must assert ourselves," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg sent a message which said: "We are sat adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out like investigators. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
